All datasets are built by assembling activities.

What are activities?

Activities represent the important actions that your customer does.

All data that you'll use in Narrator is comprised of customer activities. An activity is the foundational building block that is used to understand a customer's behavior across the business.

It is made up of the following components -

• Who? customer
• When? ts
• Did it generate revenue or incur a cost? revenue_impact
• Other details (features)
• The occurrence of the activity activity occurrence

Dataset Tip: Before building your dataset, think about the activities that would be needed to answer the question you're trying to ask of the data. We've created a list of dataset tutorials if you want to browse a few examples before getting started.
